Historian's Cornerby John Galle BoykoHi! I'm John Boyko, a Social Studies teacher at Erie High, and this is where I'm going to tell you all the cool things you need to know about where our union came from, what we've historically dealt with and overcome, and where our solidarity really shined. | ![]()

EEA History
Where we came from… and why it's important
Did you know the EEA has an official historian? We do! Congratulations to Erie High Social Studies teacher John Galle Boyko who has been named the first EEA Historian to serve in that capacity in recent history-or perhaps ever. Institutional knowledge in an organization like ours is utterly essential. Without continuity of knowledge in areas like grievances and member benefits, or even such mundane things as where the office is located or what phone company we're using, current members stand to lose what former members worked so hard to secure. We can't let that happen.
Tune in here for regular updates from Mr. Boyko for fun and interesting facts about where the EEA (or PSEA or NEA) came from, why it came into being in the first place, and why it's important that we're here. We hope you'll enjoy this feature of our site.
